In this panel held at the SEA 2008 conference, panelists Tim O'Neill, Bob Baker, and Jennifer McCord, all entrepreneurs who owe some of their success to internet marketing and sales, discuss how their websites have contributed to their careers and how others can do the same. They share examples from their own careers of how online marketing has helped them not only succeed but make a good living doing what they love, and take audience questions on web design, best practices, and finding good contractors/consultants who can maintain your web presence on your behalf.

In November 2007, Loyola University, New Orleans hosted a series of workshops and discussions by NARAS (The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) on how to survive and build a career in today’s music industry. In this keynote address, Bryan Calhoun, founder and CEO of StrategusPro, addresses the conference on recent changes in the music industry that have affected how independent artists do business. He discusses how basic changes in the way Americans consume entertainment, new avenues for recording and distributing music, and a simultaneous jump in the number of album releases and decline in overall album sales, have conspired to put the music industry as a whole in its current situation. He then shares a number of valuable strategies that an independent artist can use to build a successful and lasting career in today's evolving music industry - however that artist defines success.
